Beat The Heat Show - July 11th, 2026

The goal of this show is to get everyone in and out before the heat of the afternoon but still get some good courses and rounds in. Every class will be A-LA-CARTE, meaning there are no full Horse Trials, or Combined Tests but you can enter all three of the relevant classes to "make your own day". Ribbons will be given for each phase/round/class. The A-LA-CARTE allows us to make the priority a smooth schedule that gets everyone in and out. Riders can enter more than one level of any event. (example ride both Big Kids and Green As Grass Cross Country, or 4 different Stadium rounds, or Big Kids Cross Country and 2'3" Jumper/Stadium.)

$25 per Cross Country/Pair Pace rider

$45 Dressage Ride-A-Test

$35 Stalls (bring your own bedding and feed/buckets)

$10 Schooling Only 

$35 Office/EMT fee (one per rider)

CROSS COUNTRY & PAIR PACES 

Cross Country rounds are to be ridden alone, Pair Paces are ridden with a 

partner and are timed, no jumping faults.

DRESSAGE TESTS: Judge Crystal Forsell

We offer all Dressage Tests. All Eventing, Intro, Training, and Upper Level, Working Equitation and Western tests. Enter as many as you like but spots are very limited and will be filled on a first-come-first-serve basis.

HIGHEST SCORE MASTER RIDER AWARD

This will be awarded to the Master rider who achieves the highest Dressage score across all the tests on this day.

HIGHEST SCORE USEA TEST AWARD

This will be awarded to the rider who achieves the highest Dressage score across all of the USEA Eventing tests ridden.

OBSTACLE TRAIL: Judge Catherine Campbell

In-Hand and Mounted (Novice and Advanced)

Series of cowboy, Working Eq, and AQHA style obstacles to be ridden in any tack or lead through In Hand. May include bridges, logs, curtain, object movement, water crossing, etc. Judged on manners, responsiveness to aids, organization of handlers aids, and execution of obstacles. No DQs, only points.

HIGH POINT OBSTACLE COMBO AWARD

This will be awarded to the rider who achieves the most points across

all of the Obstacle courses.

STALLS:  

To reserve a stall please send in your entry and stall payments of $35 per stall via PayPal (to scissortailhillequestrian@gmail.com) to reserve your stall. No stall refunds within 24 hrs of the event.

• EMT is present. Each entry will include one $35 Office/EMT fee per rider.

• Current Negative Coggins required with entry form. We do not keep coggins on file.

• Scissortail Hill SHOW/EVENT RELEASE required with entry form. New one each event please.

• In the interest of horse, rider, and facility welfare and safety, the weather forecast will be taken into account at or after the closing date. An inclement forecast may cancel the event.
